Hello new Young Eagle,
The big question is “what’s next”
First sign up for the free student membership in the EAA. Here is a link https://www.eaa.org/eaa/youth/free-ye-flights/eaa-student-membership-step-2-of-eaa-flight-plan
On the back cover of the logbook you received from your Young Eagles pilot is an access code for your free EAA student membership. Once you sign up, register for Sporty’s Learn to Fly Course at the same time.
The complete Young Eagles Flight Plan can be found here https://www.eaa.org/eaa/youth/free-ye-flights/eaa-young-eagles-flight-plan
Under Young Eagles Flight Plan you can find a soaring bundle which you can start at age 13 and solo at 14. https://academy.gliderbooks.com/bundles/young-eagles-training-bundle
Also here are some “learn to fly” videos https://www.eaa.org/eaa/learn-to-fly/sportys-learn-to-fly-video-library
You and your parents are encouraged to join us at our chapter meetings on the second Saturday of every month (except December) Check us out at http://www.eaa302.org
Each year we provide two or three scholarships to youth. Attending these meetings is a good way to get to know the pilots and chapter officers who make these decisions.
There is also RC pilot opportunities here is a link https://www.eaa.org/eaa/eaa-membership/eaa-member-benefits/discount-programs/ama-membership-discount
We are lucky to have a local AMA club near by here is that link http://www.tri-countybarnstormers.com
So as you can see there are many opportunities that your Young Eagles Flight has put in place. And of course we are planning two more rallies for the spring.
I hope you can partake in a few of these to move your aviation interests/career forward.
